Facilita le connessioni locali all’internet. Zscaler le mette in sicurezza. Scoprite come con questo rapporto.

Most data center security emphasizes strong perimeter defense to keep threats on the outside. But this model is ineffective against today’s new types of threats, which may be borne by east-west traffic inside your data center. Some of these intrusions may lurk for days, weeks, or months to discover and exploit vulnerabilities. An existing concept called micro-segmentation is the solution. But until now, it was hardware-intensive and costly. In this solution overview, you’ll learn why micro-segmentation is now within your organization’s reach. Get your free copy now.

When Barracuda first engaged with Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity in 2007, enterprises were more concerned about the unauthorized use of Skype, other P2P applications and instant messaging. Although the need for application control and awareness remains, enterprise concerns are shifting to securing enterprise applications hosted in private and public clouds, protecting east-west data center traffic and preventing unwanted traffic and malware on the corporate network.

Mobile is undoubtedly changing both our personal and professional lives. Customer service organizations should decide on a strategy to bridge the gap between mobile behavior and customer service. This requires a strategic review of value drivers, combined with a tactical search for relevant use cases. Don’t fall in the “we need an app for everything” trap — some users need big screens, some users don’t. Some need a rich experience, others just need basic functions. Your strategy must take all of these dynamics into consideration.

Cloud computing and the "bring your own device" (BYOD) trend will impact the design of future datacenters and their supporting networks. To attain the kind of business agility that companies now demand, network infrastructure needs to provide the flexibility required by cloud application workloads and the changing traffic patterns fostered by BYOD. To make networks more agile, new approaches to network implementation need to be enabled. As these trends continue, application delivery controllers (ADCs) will be critical elements in the new network infrastructure. This Technology Spotlight examines these trends and the role that F5 Networks' integrated scalable platform plays in this strategic market.

Today’s enterprises face new requirements for their datacenter and cloud architectures, from keeping pace cost-effectively with fast-growing traffic to ensuring optimal application performance no matter how quickly business needs or the enterprise environment evolve. At the same time, IT must reduce costs and datacenter sprawl, ensure security and uptime, and prepare for a new generation of cloud computing initiatives. While many Application Delivery Controller (ADC) solutions promise to meet demanding customer needs, the reality often falls short. Taking a closer look at the available options and how they measure up against the criteria that matter most, it becomes clear that NetScaler beats the competition—providing better performance and scalability than F5 Networks, Inc.

What is SD-WAN? Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) is the application of software-based network technologies to WAN connections to more effectively route all network traffic between headquarters or data centers, remote and branch offices, and the cloud. More simply, it is the method of leveraging the benefits of the cloud, the bandwidth of broadband and existing enterprise-wide network infrastructure to more efficiently and cost effectively transmit media (data, video, voice) and quickly access cloud applications from every location in the network. SD-WAN dynamically utilizes multiple available connections (MPLS, broadband, LTE) to find the optimal delivery path for traffic across the entire network, shaping the bandwidth as needed to eliminate jitter and dropped data packets, thereby delivering an optimal user experience regardless of location. The more sophisticated solutions will first attempt to dynamically steer traffic to the best available link and if the available link

For many organizations, the wide area network (WAN) infrastructure that connects an enterprise’s remote and branch offices has not changed for decades. Over the years, organizations consolidated many regional data centers into a few highly available data center locations which meant that remote locations had to connect to centralized applications over WANs and all internet traffic went through these data centers as well. This introduced bandwidth constraints and latency issues. The development in WAN optimization provided incremental and measurable improvement in WAN performance and provided some bandwidth cost containment. However, that technology typically was only deployed at the most problematic sites that struggled to achieve acceptable levels of performance and user experience. It did not solve all the issues with WAN connectivity. WAN infrastructure planning was limited to increases in capacity that were met by provisioning additional carrier MPLS (multiprotocol label switching)

The client had an extensive global multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) network with over 30 Gbps of bandwidth. However, the client was experiencing bandwidth growth of >30% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) and foresaw increasing demands for multi-media applications, data center to data center traffic, and cloud solution usage to support its business units and global workforce. It became crucial for the client to re-architect their current network to support growth and provide a globally consistent user experience at lower cost. With 40% of their WAN traffic being http internet traffic, they needed regional internet service provider (ISP) breakouts. The client needed a lower cost/MB high capacity WAN backbone for better application performance and cloud optimization. Their network needed to be scalable to poise them for anticipated growth and offer improved site connectivity options.

Today's datacenter networks must better adapt to and accommodate business-critical application workloads. Datacenters will have to increasingly adapt to virtualized workloads and to the ongoing enterprise transition to private and hybrid clouds. Pressure will mount on datacenters not only to provide increased bandwidth for 3rd Platform applications such as cloud and data analytics but also to deliver the agility and dynamism necessary to accommodate shifting traffic patterns (with more east-west traffic associated with server-to-server flows, as opposed to the traditional north-south traffic associated with client/server computing). Private cloud and legacy applications will also drive daunting bandwidth and connectivity requirements. This Technology Spotlight examines the increasing bandwidth requirements in enterprise datacenters, driven by both new and old application workloads, cloud and noncloud in nature. It also looks at how Cisco is meeting the bandwidth challenge posed by 3rd

Enterprises with mission critical applications are exploring the benefits of disaster recovery sites for their data centers to ensure business continuity. Special network technology is needed to ensure that site failover and failback occurs reliably and predictably. An ideal solution should provide reliable network connections, manage inbound and outbound traffic over multiple WAN links, failover to a secondary data center if all links at the primary data center are down, and eliminate deployment barriers and costs of multi-homing with BGP (Border Gateway Protocol).
